When it comes to residential cable service in Wisconsin, I get the question of which is better, AT&T DIRECTV or Spectrum Cable, all the time. I sell them both so I do know more than a little about them both. If there were a clear winner, I'd say so. They both have high points. For example, AT&T outsources a lot of their call center activity overseas so customer service can sometimes leave a little bit to be desired. Poor communications from a communications company is never good. But did you know you can request a customer service representative from the United States and you will get one?
When signing up for services Spectrum doesn't give you a hard time about your credit. AT&T does. However, Spectrum will charge you a lower rate for 12 months and then jack the bill up year two. I mean the bill can literally double overnight. AT&T will lock you into the same low price for 24 months with no bill increase surprises. Want to leave Spectrum, it's okay because they don't lock you into contracts residentially. However, try to leave AT&T and BAM look out for the early contract termination penalties and fees. But don't worry Spectrum will pay up to $500 to buy you out of your contract with AT&T. The list goes on and on. For example, up to four rooms covered for TV receivers with AT&T. Spectrum will charge you $5 or so per month for each receiver.
So who is better? It's up for you to decide. However, I say, if you're really uncertain, try them both. You get 30 days to decide. Stick with the service provider you enjoy best. Life's too short to have lousy TV service.
Now you know.
